Joining the Pennsylvania Chapter delivers multiple rewards.

First and foremost, the ACPA Pennsylvania Chapter is the leading association representing concrete pavement contractors, cement companies, ready mix producers, equipment and material manufacturers and suppliers in the Commonwealth.  We are organized to address common needs, solve common problems and accomplish goals related to research, market development, design, construction and best practices of portland cement concrete pavements.

As the local voice of the industry, the Chapter serves as the recognized force leading local concrete paving initiatives on behalf of our members. The Chapter is superbly positioned to impact business and market growth, identify and communicate changes and needs in the marketplace.

In addition, we provide:

o        Liaison with state and local government agencies and affiliated organizations

o        Workshops and seminars designed to furnish the latest technical information

o        Bus trips, open houses and promotion initiatives to enhance awareness of concrete pavement products, processes and solutions

o        Expanded political involvement, marketing and public relations, publicity and media relations initiatives

o        An active website, press materials, and direct mail programs to transportation and pavement decision-makers

Mission
Working in partnership with our members, our mission is to promote quality concrete pavements in the Commonwealth through technology transfer and by educating specifiers, legislators and government officials about the benefits to the traveling public and to the local economy of the Pennsylvania manufactured, environmentally responsible, safe, cost-effective CONCRETE pavement investment.

Our membership base is open to contractors, cement companies, admixture suppliers, aggregate producers, affiliates, consultants, equipment manufacturers/suppliers, fly ash producers, truckers, material manufacturers/suppliers, ready mixed concrete producers, bonding and insurance companies, and others who are steadfast in their commitment to quality concrete pavements.

We provide resources that assist members in technical expertise, design, specifications, construction and restoration and in market development. We work hard to represent and promote the concrete pavement industry in federal, state and local legislative matters affecting surface transportation.

Staff

We have pavement professionals living and working on day-to-day state and local pavement opportunities.  Our staff members are in daily touch with transportation professionals, stage regular concrete pavement workshops, bus tours and seminars.  Staff provides technical assistance and marketing initiatives, including rehabilitation, to transportation authorities, municipalities, private companies, architects and engineers.

 History
The ACPA Pennsylvania Chapter was incorporated in 2006 to focus on improved customer service and in the promotion of quality concrete pavements in the Commonwealth.  For fourteen years (from 1987 through 2005), these services were performed by the 13-state Northeast Chapter of the ACPA.  And from 1902 to 1986, the staff of the Portland Cement Association served the concrete and paving industries nationally and through several regional locations including offices in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

The ACPA Pennsylvania Chapter is one of twenty-four ACPA State/Chapter Associations in the United States affiliated with the national ACPA.  Founded in 1964, ACPA’s focus is on providing services in support of local Chapter programs and in nationally promoting the benefits of concrete pavements for interstate highways, state and county highways, municipal streets, local roads, military facilities and airports.
